The many faces of me

I have many different aspects to my life and blogging has become a great way to express that - like it has for many of you.

Project Ecoart ( this blog ) is a way for me to express the artistic side of me, Project Ecolife is the domestic, DIY side of me. I write alot about projects to do around the house, great recipes and ways to save time and money. I also try to find good info on how to look at the positive side of the current economy. The times we are experiencing right now are bringing us to a simpler way of life and I am enjoying the process ( at least some of it anyway ), so I am happy to share it with you. Today's post is about how to make your own wedding cake - a pricey expense for anyone about to take the plunge, and I found step by step instruction to make a gorgeous cake. Share it with all your marrying friends.

My other blog is Nouveau Eco which demonstrates "how to keep up with the Jones' " even though your just trying to keep up. Anyone can appear to be successful. Once you master that, you will attract more successful people in your life. It's all about the energy. Nouveau Eco shows you how to live the rich life while saving the green. Today's post is about trade secrets in the world of home decor.

So remember that the buck doesn't just stop here, it stops here and here too!

Last year

I did the wrap gifts for Kerry Washington's movie "Lakeview Terrace". co-starring Samuel L. Jackson and was produced by Will Smith - not released yet ).

I just got the call telling me that I will be doing them again this year for the movie she just wrapped with Eddie Murphy.

Pictured above are the pieces I did, crystal wine glasses for the producers and stars, candle tiles wrapped with candles for the crew. Each piece of functional art is one of a kind, with a small portion of the script as the center for the artwork. They were a big hit and a very personal gift which really showed that Kerry cared enough to choose something special...I am humbled that "something special" was my art!

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to do it again this year!

Boho and back

I love Ashley Paige. The girl knows her stuff. This outfit is from Spring '07 and one for my "looking good at any age" file.

Check out these boots she had in a collection before this one...the bomb right? I posted these in the beginning before a lot of you were visiting so I decided to bring them back. I will be scouring the thrift stores ( and ebay ) for a pair of vinatge Fryes to do this idea. I am not good at freehand but a stencil ( and then filling in ) will accomplish the same look.

I'll be kickin' it Boho baby!

I apologize in advance

Did you see TMZ tonight? They asked John Mayer what he was listening to on his IPod and, much to my absolute shock - he answered: "The Roots". I LOOOOOOOOOVE The Roots ( playing right now if you just tuned in ). They are quite risque so I apologize...they are so good though - even better when you think about John Mayer listening to them. SEXY.

As you already know by now...

I am obsessed with creating a recycled couture collection of my own. Just for me to wear. My sickness began about a year ago while I was researching what kind of clothing line to do for Revolution Malibu ( still in progress - slowly moving forward ). Many of you have seen my skull t's and my vintage rock n roll t's. They were inspired by the pics above that I found while researching the pioneers of recycled couture "Project Alabama " ( the original company started by Natalie Chanin - not the company that exists today ). You must read this article , as it is not only creatively inspiring, but business wise too. The details on how this company began are amazing, and how fashion forward Natalie was to incorporate recycling t-shirts into couture back in '02 is mind boggling to me. Even more shocking is that Barney's retailed these t-shirts for $400 a piece! Truly, they were works of art and definitely worth it, more so I am just marveled at the brilliance of it all. Pardon me, while I wipe the drool from my face :)
