When I lived in Wales, I knit at the most charming little store. The owner's husband made slate buttons. I wasn't wild about them, so found a load of beach glass on Ynys Y Barri (Barry Island) our local beach. I drilled holes in the glass and sold the owner the resulting buttons. Much nicer than slate!
wouldn't these look great on white linen shirts? that's all I wear all summer long!
